Income Tax Compliance Calendar December 2023 : Check All Important Deadlines

All taxpayers must be informed about the deadlines they have for fulfilling their income tax responsibilities as the year draws to an end. There are a few important dates in December 2023 that you shouldn’t miss.

7 December, 2023

The tax deposits that have been withheld or collected for the month of November 2023 are due on this day. It is crucial to remember that, when paying taxes without presenting an income tax challan, all amounts withheld or collected by a government office must be credited to the Central Government on the same day.

15 December, 2023

First of all, a government office has till this date to provide Form 24G. If the TDS/TCS for November 2023 has been paid without a challan being produced, then this form needs to be submitted. This date also marks the due date for the third advance tax installment for the assessment year 2024–2025.

In addition, a number of TDS certificates for taxes withheld in October 2023 must be issued by December 15th, 2023. Depending on the particular rules that apply, this includes TDS certificates for tax deducted under sections 194-IA, 194-IB, 194M, and 194S.

On the same day, a stock exchange must provide a statement in Form No. 3BB about transactions involving client codes that were changed after registering for the month of November 2023 in the system.

30 December, 2023

The deadline for providing a challan-cum-statement regarding taxes deducted under different sections must always be kept in mind. Sections 194-IB, 194-M, 194-IA, and 194S are included in this. It is essential to submit these challan-cum-statements on time in order to guarantee compliance and stay out of trouble.

Finally, individuals who have not yet submitted their income tax return for the assessment year 2023–24 have the chance to do so. As long as the evaluation isn’t finished by December 31, 2023, this is true for all assessments. It is significant to remember that this applies to both amending previously filed returns and filing returns that are late.
